When their hands and eyes emerge from the blur

on frosted glass, my face is in its mirror,

superimposed. Bellicose news will whirl

in zero winds again, but not here, now,

where no car swerves in snow

to pass another, in this calm center,

this white peace that calls for urgency.

Twilight now. With patience that is beauty,

the crow man, black-hooded hulk in mist,

flies from snow castles and rises from drifts,

healer of memory, bringer of life.
